Wrapping paper - free printables

For a few years now I've been designing wrapping papers for birthday presents for my favorite people. I first got the idea while I was making a Superman doll for my dad, with his face on it, as a birthday gift. I made a Superdad logo, just like Superman's, so the idea for a wrapping paper was imminent. :)

This year, for my little sister's birthday, I could not decide between a pattern with unicorns, ice creams, pretzels, flamingos, donuts, roller skates, milkshakes or lipsticks. So I decided to use all of it, and some things extra. I named it SUPER COOL. :)

For wrapping paper #2 I chose Barbie font for silly "Goody" label, and Barbie colors, of course. :)

Remember how, in cartoons, the heroes are always trying, in every possible way, to destroy the package with a clock in it, thinking that there is a bomb inside? :) That's why I choose a cartoon bomb pattern for wrapping paper #3, and the gift is a watch, of course. :)

To share the joy of wrapping with this lovely papers with all of you, here are download links for free printable files. Just click on the name of the wrapping paper that you want to download:

MINI CAKES - A PINK TREAT

You might think that I really know my way around the kitchen or perhaps that I'm some skilled pastry chef, but non of that is true. However, this does not stop me from surprising my guests with delicious and fun desserts. I do not believe that you have to spend hours in the kitchen and follow recipes to the smallest details in order to get a perfect treat. I love to improvise, use edible colors, and serve the delicacies in style. :)

While I was shopping for cake decorations, I came across a luscious package marzipan. It was so soft and delightful to touch, I could not resist buying it. I was so excited about it, that as soon as I got home, I mixed up some muffin dough and put it in the oven. I urgently needed something to wrap in macipan! : D

When you are using marzipan for cake covering it's important to have compact and stable cake. So I figured, bready and biscuity doughs will do. You just need to find baking mold that suits your needs, or bake it all in a regular rectangle mold and then cut out the shape you want.

Marzipan is almond colored, because almonds, next to sugar, are the main ingredient. Therefore, it can not be colored in soft or pastel colors. For that you will need fondant because it is white and consists mainly of sugar. However, marzipan is much tastier due to almonds, so I agreed to compromise. :) You can buy it in well-stocked supermarkets, ask for it a local pastry shop or you can even make it yourself.

There are many tutorials online for coloring and using marzipan, and you should know it pretty easy. You just need some powder sugar, a rolling pin and food coloring.

For the top I chose cream, edible pearls and roses. But instead, you can put your favorite fruit, ice cream, real flowers, there are no limits, that's the charm of it. :)

Experiment, because you never know what you can discover. Who knew that marzipan and muffins can be this yummy! : D

If the kitchen is not your best friend, you can always invite your favorite assistant - your mother, sister, girlfriend, or in my case, a boyfriend. Make a party of it, mix up some virgin cocktails, play your favorite playlist and mix, dance, bake and laugh. :) The best part is that your cake does not have to look like mine. You choose your own colors, decorations, shapes, sizes, and even dough! Let your imagination run wild, because, as I like to say, this is not a recipe, this is an idea. :)

Rainbow ICE CREAM - Grandma's recipe

Hi everyone! :) I hope you are spending these hot summer days cooling off on some beautiful exotic beach or maybe having a picnic on a lovely green meadow. :)

In case you are stuck at home and in need for some colorful summer vibes and a tasty refreshment, I have just the recipe for you. Grandma's homemade ice cream with a colorful rainbow twist. Yummy! : D

GRANDMA'S HOMEMADE ICE CREAM

THE ORIGINAL RECIPE

You will need:

  * 6 eggs
  6 tablespoons of sugar
  200g of instant whipped cream powder
  * 400ml of milk
  * 1 cup of sour cream
  * 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  * 100g of ground hazelnut

Preparation:

* Mix the eggs and the sugar with an electric mixer. Mix for at least 10 minutes, the mixture should become big and fluffy :)
* In another bowl, mix whipped cream powder with milk, just like it says on the bag.
* Combine the two mixtures, stir them gently. :)
* Add the sour cream and vanilla.
* Finally, add the ground hazelnut.
* The mixture is now ready, put it in the freezer for a couple of hours.
Enjoy. :)

RAINBOW ICE CREAM

Preparation of the ice cream mixture remains the same, the difference is only in these three details:

* When buying whipped cream, get the white one. Colors will mix better in white.

* I didn't add hazelnuts this time, so I could have the colors I wanted, but that does not mean that you can't use them if you want. :)

* You will need food coloring.

Mixing colors:

* When you prepare the ice cream mixture, divide it into as many bowls as the number of colors that you want your ice cream to have.

* Each bowl of ice cream should have it's own spoon, because you don't want to mix different colors with the same spoon. :)

* Take a bottle with the edible color you selected and pour a few drops in a bowl of ice cream. Stir. Be sure you have mixed it up evenly so you can see the color that you got before you continue adding more color. Continue in the same manner until you get the color you want.

* Do the same with all the colors. Each color has it's own bowl.

* It's time to slowly freeze the ice cream. I chose small jars, so each of them can be served as one portion. Jars are great because you can see all the pretty colors through them. So, pour the first color on the bottom of each jar and put the jars in the freezer for an hour.

* Add one color in the jar every hour. Order of colors can be the same in all the jars but my suggestion is that you mix things up, so each ice cream serving will be unique.

* You can turn up your freezer for the duration of the freezing process. Then you won't have to wait as much between the adding of the colors. Plus the ice cream will be tastier if it freezes faster.

* That's it! All that's left now is to add some decoration and the ice cream is ready to be served. This time I chose cheerful emoticons I use every day in my instagram posts, because I looove them! Also, they show all the emotions I feel about this ice cream - yummy, OMG and similar joys. : D

If you wand emojis in your ice cream, too, you can download free printable here. The file has my favorite emoticons in different sizes. :)

You can serve it in waffle cones, your favorite bowls or maybe even decorate a souffle or a pancake. It will definitely give special charm to your pancakes. :) Why make ordinary things when you can make extraordinary, right? :)

I have to admit, I felt like an ecstatic little girl while I was eating a rainbow that tastes like my grandma's ice cream. I was filled with emotions, the exact ones that my favorite emoticons show. :)

I hope you will make your own rainbow ice cream and that you will enjoy it as much as I did. :)
